St. Eds to Host 3-part STEM Workshop Series on Austin Air Quality - Stipend Available, Limited Space

With a recently awarded 3M grant, St. Edward’s will host a 3-part STEM workshops series that will provide secondary math and science teachers with knowledge and resources to investigate air quality in Austin and around the nation. Selected participants will receive a $225 stipend for fully participating in the series. Preregistration is required for this series.

Wednesday (1:15 – 4:00 pm)

Thursday (9:00 – 11:45)

Friday (9:00 – 4:00 pm)

Murder Mystery at STEMCon: Who Killed Henry Ward

Ward's Science will be hosting an interactive murder mystery during the Austin Area STEM Conference. Use scientific instruments to collect and analyze data and draw on your deductive reasoning skills to discover who killed Henry Ward. Participants who correctly identify the murderer will be entered into a drawing to win a "Who Killed Henry Ward" kit that can be used to recreate the mystery in your own class!

Be Part of a Weather Balloon Launch during the Austin Area STEM Conference

As part of a workshop series hosted by St. Edward's University, participants will be able to witness a weather balloon launch on Thursday, Aug 4th during the conference.

HEB Provides $3,500 Grant to Support The Austin Area STEM Conference

We want to thank HEB for their generous support of our upcoming event. The funds will be used to provide our teachers food and drink during Thurday's PLC planning time. 

Teachers will be Provided Paid Planning Time Thursday Afternoon during the Conference!!!

We are thrilled to announce that the Thursday afternoon sessions will be entirely dedicated to providing subject and/or grade-level PLCS time to meet and plan for the upcoming school year. We encourage teachers to use this time to reflect on their conference experience and explore how they will integrate new teaching and learning strategies. Information on registering for PLC time during the conference will be forthcoming.

AISD to Debut Its Augmented Reality Sandbox at the Austin Area STEM Conference

The AISD Science Team will be showing off its new augmented reality sandbox during the Austin Area STEM conference. Teachers will have the opportunity to interact with the device and attend a workshop on how to build their own.
